9 March – Public Movement (Live from Tel Aviv)
Public Movement is a performative research body which investigates and stages political actions in public spaces. They study and create public choreographies, forms of social order, overt and covert rituals. Public Movement reframes protest as a demonstration about demonstrations, rather than a reaction against specific issues. They stage performances in public spaces that test the possibilities for collective political action. Since 2006, the artists have organized what they call “manifestations of presence, fictional acts of hatred, new folk dances, synchronized procedures of movement, spectacles, marches, and re-enactments of specific moments in the lives of individuals, communities, social institutions, peoples, states, and of humanity”.
